How to print multiple receipts or invoices on one page
Drag all your receipts and invoices into the invoice printing tool and they are laid out at their real size on A4 sheets, with as many to a page as will fit. Click Export / print to print or save a PDF. PDFs, photos and screenshots can go in together, so there’s no converting, merging or cutting and pasting first.
Common situations
A pile of receipt photos. Snap each receipt with your phone, add them all, and they are arranged side by side, several to a page. Long, narrow receipt photos carry camera information, so the tool knows they aren’t screenshots and keeps them in one piece. On a phone, the Camera button finds the receipt’s edges, straightens it and can boost faded thermal print with Enhance or Black & white.
PDF invoices. Each PDF page keeps its physical size and is never enlarged. When you export a PDF, the pages are embedded as vector graphics, so the text stays as sharp as the original no matter how closely you look.
Full-page PDFs. An invoice that fills a whole A4 page stays full size, so by default it gets a sheet of its own. To fit two on one sheet, see below. If only the top part matters, you can instead use Crop on a computer to trim the blank space; smaller pieces then share a page. A cropped PDF page is exported as a 300 DPI image rather than vector, which still prints clearly.
Multi-page files. Every page of a PDF becomes a separate block, in order. A hotel bill (two pages) and its card slip (one page) become three blocks.
Payment screenshots. Paste them straight in with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V, or add them from your phone’s photos.
Two full-page invoices on one sheet
Open Page settings (the ⚙ button; Settings on a phone) and set PDF pages per sheet to 2 per sheet. Full-page PDF invoices are then paired in order and shrunk to share a sheet, even when they come from separate files, which is something a PDF reader’s “multiple pages per sheet” can’t do without merging them first. As with a printer’s “2 pages per sheet” setting, full-page portrait invoices on a portrait sheet are turned 90° and stacked when that makes them larger, at roughly 60–70% of their size, so you read the printout sideways. The exported PDF is still vector, so the text stays sharp. Leave the setting on Actual size for small receipts, which are never enlarged and already share pages. Adjusting and printing
- Items follow the order you added them. On a computer, drag to rearrange; on a phone, long-press one and drag it onto another to swap them, or onto empty space to move it there.
- To label a receipt, say “Client lunch, May 12”, select it and choose Add caption.
- In the print dialog, choose Actual size or 100%, not “Fit to page”, or the printer may shrink everything again.
- Before export, the tool warns you about anything less than 3 mm from the edge of the paper, where it might get cut off.
Whether printed copies are accepted for an expense report or tax records depends on your employer, accountant or tax office, so check with them; and keep your original files.
